Lucky Numbers in Australian Culture

The most widely considered lucky number in Australia is 8, associated with wealth and prosperity (influenced by Chinese numerology). Other numbers regarded as lucky:

• 7 – Traditional Western luck (days of the week, wonders, etc.).
• 9 – Sometimes linked to longevity or completeness (though "9 months" is a common misconception; human gestation is ~40 weeks).

These beliefs are cultural, not statistical; lottery odds remain unchanged regardless of number choice.
