How old are Australian indigenous aboriginals?

Australian indigenous aboriginals have a rich and enduring history that continues today. Aboriginal Australians first came to their lands from Asia as much as 60,000 years ago. Some studies suggests human inhabitation as late as 50,000 years ago. This makes Australian indigenous aboriginals one of the most ancient societies globally and they are recognized as the first group of indigenous people to inhabit their territories. These early inhabitants adapted to Australia's landscape gradually adopting and mastering skills that allowed them to live harmoniously within diverse Australian ecology. Their strong cultural bond to and reverence for the land remains and has shaped numerous Australian traditions.
