Where is the amazons source?
The Amazon River has two main sources: the Ucayali River and the Mantaro River. The Ucayali River is generally accepted as the source of the Amazon, as it is longer than the Mantaro River and contributes a greater amount of water to the Amazon. The Ucayali River originates in the Andes Mountains of Peru, near the city of Cuzco, and flows northeastward through the Amazon rainforest before joining the Amazon River near the city of Iquitos. The Mantaro River also originates in the Andes Mountains, but it flows westward before turning northeast and joining the Ucayali River near the city of Pucallpa.
