Locations of Canada's Three Territories

Canada's three northern territories:

• Yukon: Far northwest, between Alaska and British Columbia. Smallest by area and population (~35K). Capital: Whitehorse.
• Northwest Territories: Central north, between Yukon and Nunavut. Largest by area (1.3M km²). Capital: Yellowknife.
• Nunavut: Easternmost, between NWT and Greenland. Largest by area (2M km²). Capital: Iqaluit.

All experience long, frigid winters and brief, cool summers. Populations concentrated in southern regions where towns are situated.
