Why does Aruba have an unusually dry climate in terms of Caribbean nations?

3. Proximity to the South American Continent: Aruba's proximity to the South American continent influences its climate. The continent's coastal plains and the Andes Mountains act as natural barriers, preventing significant moisture-carrying air masses from reaching the island.
