How many islands surround Cuba?

There are more than 4,195 islands and cays surrounding the island of Cuba. The largest of these is the Isla de la Juventud, or Isle of Youth, which lies about 100 kilometers (62 miles) south of the mainland. Other major islands include Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, and Cayo Santa Maria, all of which are popular tourist destinations.
