Who governs azores islands?

Azores, officially the Azores Autonomous Region, is one of the two autonomous regions of Portugal. The region includes nine islands in the North Atlantic Ocean situated at about 1,500 km (900 mi) from Lisbon, and about 1,500 km (900 mi) from the North American continent. The population of the Azores was estimated at 243,420 in 2021, in an area of 2,344 km2 (905 sq mi). The main urban areas are Ponta Delgada and Angra do Heroísmo, both of which are historical and former regional capitals. Since October 2020, the President of the Government of the Azores has been José Manuel Bolieiro, a member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
