Climate of the Maldives
Tropical Climate
The Maldives enjoys a tropical climate with year-round temperatures averaging around 82°F (28°C) and high humidity.
Monsoon Seasons
- Dry Season (Northeast Monsoon): January through March – lower rainfall, calmer seas, and plenty of sunshine.
- Rainy Season (Southwest Monsoon): May through November – higher rainfall, stronger winds, and occasional storms. April and December are transitional months.
Travel Implications
The dry season is peak tourist season, ideal for diving, snorkeling, and beach activities. The rainy season offers lower prices and fewer crowds, but outdoor activities may be disrupted by weather.
