Is there an ocean trench between Cancun and Cozumel?

There is not an ocean trench between Cancun and Cozumel. The island of Cozumel is located approximately 12 miles off the coast of Playa del Carmen, which is just south of Cancun on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Cozumel sits within the northern Caribbean Sea.
