Where does El Paso get most of its water from?

El Paso gets most of its water from groundwater. The city has developed a complex network of wells that tap into the Hueco Bolson aquifer, which is located beneath El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. The aquifer is recharged by the Rio Grande and other surface water sources, and it provides the majority of the water for El Paso's population of over 680,000 people. In addition to groundwater, El Paso also receives some of its water from the Rio Grande and the Franklin Mountains.
