Who was the first European person to obsorve Texas coast?

The Spanish explorer Alonso Álvarez de Pineda was the first European recorded to travel along the coast of Texas. He explored the Gulf of Mexico coastline in 1519 and mapped the area from Florida to Mexico. He is credited as the first European to discover the Texas coast.
