Are there any indigenous people in Falkland Islands?
There are no indigenous peoples currently residing in the Falkland Islands. The native population of the islands belonged to the Ona and Yaghan tribes, believed to have come over about 12,000 years ago. However, the last recorded member of the Yaghan tribe died in 1982, while survivors of the Ona people relocated to mainland South America towards the end of the 19th century.
