Are deserts the driest place on Earth?

While deserts are typically known for their arid conditions and limited rainfall, they are not necessarily the driest places on Earth. Some polar regions, such as the McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica, are considered to be the driest places on the planet. These valleys receive virtually no precipitation and have extremely low humidity, resulting in a hyper-arid environment.
