How do canyons end?
Canyons usually end where the river that created the canyon flows into a larger body of water, such as the ocean, a lake, or another river. For example, the Grand Canyon in the United States ends at the Colorado River Delta, where the river flows into the Gulf of California. Other canyons may end at a point where the river disappears into the ground or evaporates, leaving behind a dry canyon. This is common in arid regions where the water supply is limited. In some cases, canyons may also end abruptly due to a geological event such as a landslide or an earthquake that changes the course of the river.
