Cultural Sensitivities to Respect

• Avoid discussing religion or politics unless invited; Bahamians hold strong views.
• Dress modestly: Cover shoulders and knees; avoid overly tight or revealing clothing.
• Do not litter: Keep beaches and oceans clean; dispose of trash properly.
• Do not take shells from beaches: Illegal; shells protect coastlines and marine ecosystems.
• Do not touch or harass wildlife: Respect sea turtles, dolphins, iguanas, etc.
• No topless/nude sunbathing on public beaches: Considered disrespectful; only allowed at private resorts where permitted.
