The Small Country North of India: Nepal

Nepal is the landlocked Himalayan nation directly north of India. It shares borders with India to the south, west, and east, and with China (Tibet Autonomous Region) to the north. With a population of roughly 29 million (2021 estimate), its capital is Kathmandu. Nepal is famed for Mount Everest, the birthplace of the Buddha (Lumbini), and a rich tapestry of Hindu and Buddhist culture.
