When Did Liechtenstein Become a Sovereign State?

Liechtenstein is considered to have become a sovereign state on July 12, 1806, when it was recognized as such by the Holy Roman Emperor Francis II upon the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire and the formation of the Confederation of the Rhine. This marked its emergence as an independent principality, though its ruling family had held the territory since 1719.
