Did the U.S. Change Russia's Capital? No—Moscow Since 12th Century

The United States has never changed Russia's capital. Moscow has been Russia's capital since the 12th century (briefly moved to St. Petersburg 1712–1918). The U.S. recognizes Moscow as the capital and maintains its embassy there.

Any suggestion otherwise confuses diplomatic recognition with capital designation—a sovereign decision.
