What are three belts in the Midwest?

Three belts in the Midwest are the Corn Belt, the Dairy Belt, and the Manufacturing Belt.

1) The Corn Belt includes parts of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Corn can grow well in this region because of the good prairie soils and relatively warm and wet climate. The region produces corn for feed, food and industrial uses, such as ethanol.

2) The Dairy Belt is also located in the Midwest, primarily Wisconsin and Minnesota. These states have ample supplies of water, grasslands for animals, and large dairy cooperatives. The dairy industry in this region is known for its high milk production and the production of cheese, butter and other dairy products.

3) The Manufacturing Belt, commonly known as the Rust Belt, is a term used to describe a region of the United States in the Great Lakes and Midwest that experienced significant economic decline due to deindustrialization in the latter half of the 20th century. Historically important industries such as steel production, automobile manufacturing, and heavy machinery suffered job losses and plant closures. Despite the decline, the region is still known for its manufacturing capabilities, particularly in sectors like transportation equipment, food processing, and advanced manufacturing.
