What is a developing region?

Developing Region is a term used to refer to a country or region characterized by relatively low levels of economic development, industrialization, and social indicators compared to more advanced countries or regions. Often characterized by lower income, higher levels of poverty, limited infrastructure, weaker educational systems and healthcare, and a dependence on agriculture or extraction of natural resources. Some examples of Developing Regions include countries in sub-Saharan Africa, many countries in Asia and Latin America. The designation of developing regions is dynamic, as countries can move from Developing to Developed or advanced status over time.
