Philippine national hero José Rizal's voyage from Manila to Barcelona (May–June 1882) included these stopovers:

2. Point de Galle, Ceylon (Sri Lanka) (May 18–19) – Galle Face Hotel
3. Port Said, Egypt (Jun 2–3) – Oriental Hotel
4. Naples, Italy (Jun 11–14) – Hotel Victoria
5. Marseille, France (Jun 15–16) – Hotel Noailles

He then traveled by train to Barcelona, arriving June 16, 1882, to begin medical studies.
