Did Fidel Castro spend time in New York City?

Fidel Castro did visit New York City several times during his lifetime, but he did not spend an extended period of time there. His most famous visit to New York City occurred in 1960 when he addressed the United Nations General Assembly. He also made visits in 1979, 1995, and 1998.
