Is Colorado part of tornado alley?
Colorado is considered to be on the periphery of Tornado Alley, a region of the United States that is prone to tornadoes. While tornadoes can occur anywhere in the country, they are most common in the Great Plains, which includes parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. Colorado experiences fewer tornadoes than these states, but they do still occur. In fact, Colorado has had some of the most powerful and destructive tornadoes in U.S. history, including the Windsor-Severance tornado of 2008 and the Greeley tornado of 2015.
