The West Bank is a region in the Middle East that is currently administered by the Palestinian National Authority. It was captured by Jordan from Israel in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and remained under Jordanian occupation until the 1967 Six-Day War, when it was captured by Israel. Jordan recognized Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank in the 1994 Israel-Jordan peace treaty.
