What happened to Luther after he was declared an outlaw in Germany?
Martin Luther was declared an outlaw in the Holy Roman Empire by Emperor Charles V in the Edict of Worms in 1521. After this, Luther went into hiding for a while, but he eventually returned to Wittenberg and continued to spread his ideas. He was supported by many of the German princes, who were opposed to the power of the emperor. In 1525, the German Peasants' War broke out, and Luther was blamed for it by many. As a result, he lost some of his support, but he continued to be a leading figure in the Protestant Reformation.
