The Brooklyn Bridge spans the East River, linking the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Completed in 1883, it was the world's first steel-wire suspension bridge and an icon of American engineering. It carries vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. It does not connect any countries—both ends are within the United States.
