Wanderlust World Wanderlust World The Rio Grande Rise is a large submarine volcanic plateau in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean. It lies east of Argentina and extends northward into the Brazil Basin. Rising from the abyssal plain to ~2,000 m (6,560 ft) below sea level, it consists of basalts and andesites from mantle-derived eruptions. It is a significant bathymetric feature influencing deep-water circulation and biodiversity.
