What sparked the formation of Confederation States America?

There is no country or historical event called "Confederation States America." However, there is a historical event known as the Confederate States of America, commonly referred to as the Confederacy. The Confederacy was formed in 1861 by eleven Southern states that seceded from the United States of America: South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Carolina. The secession was primarily motivated by the issue of slavery, as these states sought to preserve their economic system based on plantation agriculture and slave labor.
