How many horses are there in Europe?

According to the latest data from Eurostat, there were an estimated 7.3 million horses in the European Union (EU) in 2020. The country with the highest number of horses was Germany (1.3 million), followed by France (1.1 million) and the United Kingdom (0.9 million).
