Croatia shares land borders with five nations:

• Slovenia (northwest)
• Hungary (north/northeast)
• Serbia (east)
• Bosnia and Herzegovina (south/east – surrounds coastal exclave)
• Montenegro (far south, short border)

It also has a long maritime border with Italy across the Adriatic Sea.
