Is Island Hopping in Greece Difficult?

Contrary to what some might think, traveling between the Greek islands is generally straightforward. Greece boasts an extensive ferry network that connects the mainland with the islands and links the islands to each other. Most inhabited islands have at least one port with regular sailings.

For longer distances or to save time, domestic flights are a popular alternative, especially for reaching the more remote islands like Crete, Rhodes, or Santorini from Athens. With a little planning, island hopping is one of the most enjoyable ways to experience Greece.
