Does Germany have a Remebrance Day?

Germany does not observe a Remembrance Day as such, but they do have a number of days of remembrance and commemoration. These include Volkstrauertag (National Day of Mourning) on the second Sunday before the first Advent, which commemorates the victims of war and tyranny; and Totensonntag (Memorial Sunday) on the Sunday before the first Advent, which is a day to remember the deceased.
