Yugoslavia was not the only major country in Europe that was neither a communist nor capitalist ally. Other major European countries that were not aligned with either the Eastern Bloc or the Western Bloc during the Cold War include Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Austria. These countries were known as neutral states and they maintained a policy of non-alignment in order to avoid being drawn into the Cold War conflict.
