This monument is a symbol of the French nation. It is found at the top of Champs-Elysees in the heart of Paris. Although Napoleon I dreamed of this monument, it was completed 30 years later in 1836 by King Louis-Philippe as a dedication to the armies of the Revolution and the Empire. Visitors can climb to the top and take in the entire city of Paris from the terrace. It is open daily from morning until late evening.
