European River Trips

The grand rivers of Europe can transport travelers through the heart of the continent's oldest cities.     Seine

    • The second-longest river in France is the Seine River, which spans over 400 miles from Burgandy in the country's northwest region through Paris. Avalon Waterways Seine River Cruise encounters over 30 historic bridges during its trip from Burgandy to the English Channel at Le Havre. The journey features guided sightseeing tours of the French cities of Paris, Rouen, Lyon and Avignon among others. An excursion to the battleground on the beaches of Normandy is also included. The cruise includes a walking tour of Arles, the city Van Gogh long called home. Other stops include the open-air food market in Beaune and Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière in Lyon.
