Where doest the Rhine river begin?

The Rhine river begins in the Swiss Alps, in the canton of Graubünden. Its source is a small lake called Tomasee, located at an altitude of 2,345 metres (7,700 feet) above sea level. The Rhine then flows through Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, France, Germany, and the Netherlands before emptying into the North Sea.
