Where is the River Rhine?

The Rhine is a major river in Western Europe, with a length of about 1,233 km (766 mi). It rises in the Alps in Switzerland and flows through Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands, terminating in the North Sea. The Rhine forms part of the border between Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Liechtenstein and Austria, and Germany and France. Along its way, the Rhine passes through beautiful countryside and various important cities, including Zurich, Basel, Strasbourg, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, and Rotterdam.
