Was St. Patrick Born in Dublin on March 17?

No. Two common misconceptions:

• Birthplace: St. Patrick was born in Roman Britain (likely modern-day Wales, Scotland, or northern England) in the late 4th century—not Dublin.
• Date: March 17 marks the traditional date of his death (c. 461 AD), not his birth. His exact birth date is unknown.

The feast day evolved into the global celebration of Irish culture known as St. Patrick's Day.
