Flying an Ultralight in Ireland: License Requirements

No pilot’s license is required to fly an ultralight in Ireland, provided the aircraft complies with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) rules:

• Empty weight < 250 kg (551 lb)
• Max speed < 150 km/h (93 mph)
• Stall speed < 65 km/h (40 mph)
• Single pilot only
• Non-commercial use only

While no license is mandated, training is strongly advised before flying.
