Treasure Lake is situated in Clearfield County, in the Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania. It is 100 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, near the city of DuBois. The location is in the middle of the woodlands of central Pennsylvania.
The area has a humid continental climate with temperatures ranging from 20 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in winter, and from 55 to 85 degrees in summer.
The campground at Treasure lake is called Cayman Landing, which features a large lodge and a smaller pavilion. Guests can use the amenities of Treasure Lake, such as pools, beaches, marina rentals, restaurants and taverns. A pass is required for the pools and beaches. Full hook-ups with water, sewers and electricity are available. There is also a convenience store and mini-golf course on the premises.
There are rental cabins available in Treasure Lake. The Cayman Landing campsite offers rental cabins equipped with fireplace, kitchen and other amenities.
In addition to renting cabins, you can also rent time-share apartments for longer or shorter periods. The time-shares are managed by Crown Resorts.
Treasure Lake has two lakes: Treasure Lake and Bimini Lake. In addition, there is a fishing pond near the Ski Lodge. The lakes feature bass, walleye, pike and perch. To fish in the lakes, you need a fishing license. This can be purchased at the Treasure Lake Marina. There is a separate fishing site for children under 12 and seniors over 62, which is stocked with fish.
Only property owners are allowed to put in their own boats in the lake. Guests have to use the rental boats available at the marina.
The pools are open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor day. The same applies to the three beaches of the Treasure Lake area. In summer, water-skiing, fishing and swimming are popular on the lakes of the area. In winter, ice-fishing and skating are popular activities. There are tracks for cross-country skiing in the area.
