Patapsco Valley State Park is less than two miles west of the Baltimore Beltway along route 40. Camping is permitted at the Hollofield Area, which has 73 sites that come with picnic table and fire rings, some have electric hook-up. The campground has a ball field, a playground and nature trails that lead to the Patapsco River for fishing and swimming. One trail leads to an overlook of the Pataspco River Valley.

Ramblin' Pines RV Park & Campground, 10 miles northwest of the Baltimore Beltway off Route 40, has 200 campsites with full utility hook-up and can accommodate slide-outs, pull-throughs and rigs up to 60 feet long. The park offers activities for campers on weekends and holidays including karaoke, kids crafts and hayrides. The park, which has a security gate, has recreation amenities such as a pool, game room, general store, exercise room, a pet park and onsite catch and release fishing.

Twelve miles northeast of the Baltimore Beltway in Abingdon off Route 40, Bar Harbor RV Park & Marina is directly on the shore of the Upper Chesapeake Bay. The park offers docking and boat slips in addition to shaded, water-front RV sites that come equipped with full utility hook-up, fire ring and concrete patio. Park guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi, swimming pool, convenience store, playground and kayak and paddle boat rentals. Bar Habor has a floating house for rent in addition to RV campsites.

Cherry Hill Park is 20 miles southwest of the Baltimore Beltway off I-95, right outside the Washington D.C. Beltway. The park has 400 RV sites that have full utility hook-up, cable and Wi-Fi. Cherry Hill Park offers free nightly movies at an outdoor theater, swimming pools, a playground, hot tub, sauna, game room and nature trail. The onsite camp store offers camping goods, groceries and golf cart rentals. Cafe open seasonally in summer. Pets are welcome.
