Situated in northeast Illinois, the DuPage County town of Oak Brook, Illinois, is a village with a small population. Just over 30 minutes away from Chicago, Oak Brook is more a quaint suburban residence than it is camping hotspot.     • About 16 miles west of Oak Brook lies the Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Illinois. RV sites have electric hook-ups and self-contained waste systems but do not have sewage or water hook-ups. Campground amenities include latrines, gravel parking pads, fire rings, picnic tables, restrooms with showers and running water. The campgrounds at the Blackwell Forest Preserve operate from May through September. RV campers must pay a nominal fee to camp at Blackwell, including additional charges for electricity.     • Located 30 miles south of Oak Brook in Joliet, the Martin Camper Park borders the Fox River, a good location for white water paddling, fishing and swimming. For RV campers, this family friendly park offers pull-through campsites, big rig access and shade trees. One-hundred and ten RV sites feature electric, water and sewer hook-ups. Onsite amenities include wireless Internet. Pets are allowed and Martin also accommodates tent campers. Campers can find the Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor, the Broken Arrow Golf Club, the Kankakee River State Park and the Goose Lake Prairie State Park within an hour's drive,.

    Chicagoland Speedway RV Park

    • Thirty miles south of Oak Brook, the Chicagoland Speedway is a 1.5 mile tri-oval racetrack that hosts automotive racing events---including NASCAR and IndyCar events---throughout the year. This popular attraction also features a variety of RV camping at its Lower Ridge, Lakeside and Degree Men V-12 campgrounds. These RV campsites cater toward racing fans, putting travelers in park-like settings near the track. Features include gravel access roads, 20x40 foot parking spaces and 30 amp RV style electric hook-ups. Campers will find tram service, a convenience store and showers onsite. Chicagoland Speedway RV Park offers waste and water services for an additional fee.
