What is routing number in Romania?

Romania, being a part of the European Union, does not use the routing number system commonly found in the United States. Instead, Romania uses the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for identifying bank accounts.

The IBAN in Romania consists of 24 characters and has the following format:

RO<2-letter country code><2 digits>

Here's an example of a Romanian IBAN:

RO12INGB1234567890123456

In Romania, the IBAN is widely used for domestic and international money transfers, and serves as a unique identifier for bank accounts.
