Europe's Warmest Climate: The Canary Islands

The Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off northwest Africa, enjoy Europe's warmest climate. Their subtropical conditions bring average temperatures of 18°C (64°F) in January to 24°C (75°F) in August. Mild winters and warm summers make them a year-round tourist destination. Politically part of Spain (Europe), geographically African, they are the warmest territory under European sovereignty.
