Ecuador's National Day: Independence Day on August 10

Ecuador celebrates its National Day (Día del Primer Grito de Independencia) on August 10. This marks the 1809 declaration of independence from Spain in Quito—one of the first such cries in Latin America. Full independence was achieved in 1822 after the Battle of Pichincha. The day features parades, concerts, and patriotic events nationwide.
