What currency do you need in Costa Rica?

Costa Rica uses the Costa Rican Colon (₡) as its official currency. While US Dollars (USD) are widely accepted in tourist areas, it is recommended to have some Costa Rican Colones on hand for local purchases and to avoid potential exchange rate discrepancies.
