MLB Players Born in Uruguay: Two Known

Only two Major League Baseball players have been born in Uruguay:

1. José Alberro (b. 1927) — Pitcher, Washington Senators (1951–1952), 2 games. *Correction: Not an All-Star second baseman; likely confused with another player.
2. Ricardo Nannita (b. 1990) — Outfielder, Washington Nationals (2015–2016), 15 games.

Context

• Baseball is minor in Uruguay (football dominates).
• Both players developed abroad (Alberro in Cuba/US; Nannita in Dominican academies).
• No Uruguay-born player has had a substantial MLB career.
