Did Mexico win or lose war?
The United States won the Mexican–American War in 1848. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the war and ceded to the United States the present-day U.S. states of California, Nevada, Utah, most of Arizona and New Mexico, and parts of Colorado and Wyoming. In return, the United States paid Mexico $15 million and assumed the $3.25 million in debts that Mexico owed to American citizens.
