What if you only have a birthcertificate and valid California i.d. to enter the u.s from Mexico?
A birth certificate and a valid California ID are not sufficient documents to enter the United States from Mexico. According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), foreign nationals seeking to enter the United States at a land border port of entry must present a valid passport or other travel document, such as a visa, border crossing card, or re-entry permit, along with a valid photo ID. A birth certificate and a state-issued ID, such as a California ID, are not considered valid travel documents for entry into the United States.
