Is Dolph Briscoe the largest private landowner in Texas?

Dolph Briscoe Jr. was formerly one of the largest private landowners in Texas, but the largest individual private landowner in Texas (not the largest ranch) is possibly Stan Kroenke of Missouri with holdings estimated at up to 522,000 acres. The Briscoe empire covers around 266,322 acres.
